Check that your sentences make logical sense while still being clear and concise. Dangling modifiers (participles which do not apply to the words they precede) are more common than you might think.

Was it the doctors or Ms Thompson who got the new heart, lungs and liver? Rewrite as:
After receiving a new heart, lungs and liver six weeks ago, Mrs Thompson is being allowed by doctors to move into a hospital flat.
What about:
Highly articulate and well informed, you do not have to agree with his positions to recognise his ability.
Who is highly articulate and well informed; you, or the person the sentence is about? Rewrite as:
He is highly articulate and well informed, and you do not have to agree with his positions to recognise his ability.
